Today marks the soft opening of Lucky Classic Kopitiam in Sibu, Sarawak. I am the main financier. However, I do not run the business each day. Instead, my wife runs it. She started the idea. She planned every detail. Now, she manages the kopitiam full time.
The soft opening took place at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, 19 December 2025. It began with a ribbon cutting. Next, balloons went up into the sky. Firecrackers followed right after. Later that evening, at 6:30 p.m., the team held a dinner at the kopitiam. During the dinner, the staff, contractors, and landlord joined the celebration.
Lucky Classic Kopitiam serves well-known Sarawak food. During the day, customers can enjoy kampua, Sarawak laksa, and kueh chap. The kopitiam also serves nasi campur (economy rice). Most importantly, our nasi campur includes pansuh babi. This dish is hard to find in Sibu. Because of this, many customers find it special.
In the evening, the kopitiam changes. It becomes a Chinese-style seafood restaurant in Sibu. The kitchen cooks fresh seafood on order. As a result, diners enjoy a different meal at night.
